Torchwood Series 3 DVD Box?
As we know that the 3rd series of torchwood is only going to be 5 episodes, what do you think will happen when they bring the dvd out? Will they either bring out a singular dvd with no extras or surround sound (like the part dvds ) or do you think that if we want a box then they will make us wait 2 years and combine the 4th series with the 3rd series to make one big box with extras and such (like the 1st and 2nd series boxsets)
??
Well the BBC say that in addition to series 3, "there may be more Torchwood episodes later in the year", so we could end up with an additional mini-series or possibly some one-off specials to make up the numbers. It's also possible (although unlikely) that they might even make a full 13 episode series for later in 2009.
So I would expect to see a Torchwood DVD set towards the end of 2009 containing both series 3, and whatever they have planned for later in the year.
Another possibility, although maybe not a likely one, is that they might combine the Torchwood mini-series and the forthcoming Doctor Who specials for 2009 into a single boxed set.
As for extras, I was actually quite disappointed with how few there were on the series 1 and 2 boxed sets (especially the lack of commentaries, e.t.c). So the 5 episode mini-series, may simply provide an opportunity to include a better package of DVD extras.
