Why do BBC DVD's cost so much money?
It's crazy how much money their DVD's cost. I'm a big fan of the Doctor Who series. The DVD's usually have 15 episodes, with some extras like a documentary or two, and some commentary. But they are always at least $100 in stores. And about $80 on Amazon. It just boggles the mind why they are that expensive. I mean have another series, same amount of episodes, more extras, commentary, and they only cost around $40. And it's not just the Doctor Who series, but other series from them like Torchwood. What, are they still mad about the American Revolution. :p
the value of the Dollar have been VERY low- compared to the british pound the dollar was worth as little as 38 CENTS- over the last Yr
it is abit better now- the dollar is worth about 55 cents-- so what cost you $100 in the usa is worth about $50 in British money-- they would be taking a Big Loss
also it has to do with the legal contacts between the bbc and their usa distributor--
